What the Life in the UK Test is
The Life in the UK Test is a computer based test of British history, traditions and everyday life. All questions come from the official handbook, Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents, 3rd edition. You answer 24 questions in 45 minutes and need 18 correct answers, which is 75%, to pass.
Who takes the test
People applying for settlement in the UK, also called indefinite leave to remain, and people applying for British citizenship. You only need to pass once, and your pass is accepted for both applications.
Booking the official test
The only official booking service is www.gov.uk/life-in-the-uk-test. The standard fee is £50 per attempt and you must book at least 3 days ahead. Our classroom course includes one to one help with your booking.
